Screening and Assessments are part of being an Early Achievers School

August 2nd, 2017

by Katrina Brooke

After the first 90 days of enrollment teachers, using a screening form from CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention) and DHHS (Department of Health & Human Services), document milestones met.  Parents are asked to sign and return the original form to verify we have screened your child.  After that teachers will set up times for parent Teacher conferences. https://www.cdc.gov/ncbddd/actearly/milestones/index.html

Using Teaching Strategies Gold teachers document and record observations so they do ongoing assessments of the children and parents receive an Individual Child Report showing the developmental level of their students at conferences in the winter and again in spring.  Parents can set up a conference with their teacher to talk about the areas of development or any time there is a concern.   More at: https://teachingstrategies.com/our-approach/mission/

We are an Early Achievers School following higher guidelines and criteria than the basic licensing requirements.  We want to provide the highest quality care possible for young children.  More information about Early Achievers can be found at: https://del.wa.gov/EarlyAchieversforFamilies
