Welcoming Families!

Welcoming Families always been one of our goals. We try to learn parents names and greet the whole family when you arrive. After the first 90 days we start setting up parent conferences and even if there are no concerns it is a time to get to know each other, and set goals for the year. We offer a curriculum night and e-mail our lesson plans. We have an open door policy and welcome families any time (We just ask it not be at a time it would cause the child a disruption, like nap time). We love when parents can work in the classroom, join us for a fun event or on a field trip. We hope you feel welcome!!

Teaching Strategies for Early Childhood Education
For families to feel welcome, you and they need to establish mutual trust. Trust between teachers and families develops over time and is based on many positive and respectful experiences. Some family members may be uneasy in a school environment and unsure of how they will be treated. You can build trust by conveying positive messages to families. To help convey a positive message to families, you can welcome them at all times during the program day, invite them to contribute to the program, and keep them informed on what is happening in the classroom.
